I first ran for office in 2020. I’m not politician, but I am a very experienced and highly motivated person who has depth of experience and broad set of skills needed to represent our Olympic Peninsula, the 24th Legislative District, in our WA State Legislature .
The need for positive change in government now is vital to our well-being. The deteriorating quality of life resulting from misaligned priorities in laws, increasing property crime and violence without recourse, and funding that disappears without benefitting us, are key motivations to introduce common sense solutions and accountability in Olympia.
This is why I am running again in 2022. I'm ready to take on the political establishment for my family, and yours.
In all your life have you ever seen $650,000,000 for our state unemployment disappear to a foreign country, and no one was ever charged with crime or even fired?
Long-time 24th LD incumbent, Democrat Steve Tharinger's answer (to just about anything) was to pass more tax laws to remove more money from our economy and your wallet. Tharinger is proud of the fact that he also supports passing a new income tax on all of us.
Quite honestly, it's frightening when one considers the brazen money grab through steadily increasing taxes, fees, tolls, on every conceivable thing, from a routine drive to the store and our kid's inheritance.
The skyrocketing state budget, deteriorating roads, and rising crime is running crazy. Speaking of crazy, Tharinger has never passed up an opportunity to undermine parents' rights by presuming he and the State know what's best of our/your kids. I'm running to correct these wrongs.
Then there is the anger brewing over mandates during the Covid 19 crisis, amidst unreasonable business closures and, now, the soaring cost of food, all of which are increasing the barriers to affordable housing and affordable health care as we get more and more stress added to our lives.
What's most troubling about the state of our State and the 24th District is how Tharinger, his Democrat cohorts Rep. Mike Chapman and Senator Kevin Vandewege have time, and time again wielded these difficulties to divide us, instead of advocating for what will unite us.
Is this really what we want and need from our State Representatives? Are we willing to continue to allow or encourage the re-election of the same people who are allowing these things to happen to us, or even worse, those who are directly responsible? I say, NO WAY! Tharinger needs to retire. I am running again to make sure he does.
Here's what I have to offer the citizens of the 24th LD:
I am a bonafide public servant, not a career politician. I have tried and true leadership experience in taking down social-cultural barriers and building bridges toward unifying solutions.
I have combined two careers into my life so far, military and civil service. My extensive experience in administration, natural resource management, human resource program supervision, with the integrity of military service and command responsibility with Inspector General accomplishments. All this offers you assurance and every justification for confidence in my ability to work for you.
